PROFESSION REDEFINED

Dear friends,
It is apparent to us that the profession of dentistry is becoming depersonalized through the advent of delivery systems such as retail dental clinics, HMOs, and other contract dental plans. A few years from now, we are likely to see a profession quite different from the one we know today.

The areas of postgraduate study (human relations, preventive medicine/denistry, nutrition, periodontics, and implant dentistry) in which we have been involved over the years are literally redefining our practice. We find ourselves increasingly in the "knowledge business" whereby we can provide choices or alternatives for our patients in a facilitative or partnership arrangement for more total health.

We are, indeed, becoming a high-tech society. But high tech demands "high touch," or more personal attention. If care is not exercised, high tech can become highly impersonal. It is a basic need for people to feel special and unique, yet it is becoming more difficult to receive personal attention in today's fast-paced, high-tech environment.

We, however, feel a special commitment to all of you and realize that only through meaningful, trusting relationships can we impact each other in a positive way. These require time, care, skill, and judgment, qualities not generally found in many professional relationships. We are committed to providing this level of service to our patients who want and value it as highly as we do.

So our goal is high-tech -- but always "high touch" -- personal care and relationship-building, plus our continued commitment to excellence in restorative and reconstructive procedures. we realize that this process requires personal and professional growth. TO achieve these goals, we need your continued support and confidence, and we appreciate your referrals of friends who also hold these values.

Thank you for all your referrals. We appreciate them!
